Dreep — a water appliance for personalised vitamin dosing.

Dreep, developed as VH2O, is a connected water appliance that adds each person’s own supplement doses to the water as it is poured. The client came to us with an interface sketch on paper. We developed the embedded software and the touchscreen product it runs, along with the electronics architecture and hardware integration underneath.

01 / The product

Supplements taken without anyone having to remember them.

The appliance holds a circular tray of disposable liquid supplement cartridges and dispenses hot, ambient or cold water. Each person in the household has a profile on the machine that records the supplements and doses they have been advised to take.

The routine is one interaction: tap a name, choose a temperature, take the glass. The machine meters that profile’s supplements into the pour, so the intake happens as part of drinking water rather than as a separate daily task with its own boxes and reminders.

Profiles can be set up on the machine itself or from the companion application, which the appliance pairs with over the household network.

02 / Our contribution

A sketch on paper, taken to a working appliance.

The industrial design and the mechanical build of the appliance are the client’s. Our scope was the part of the product a user touches and the electronics behind it: the screen software, the control of the dispensing hardware, the electronics architecture and the connected setup.

01Embedded platform — Custom embedded software, developed for this appliance, runs the touchscreen product, the device configuration, the network connection and the control of the dispensing hardware. 02Product interface — The 5 inch touchscreen was developed from the client’s paper sketch into the working interface for the appliance: water dispensing, supplement selection, user profiles, first-time setup and the maintenance screens. 03User profiles — One appliance serves a household, so each person has a profile on the machine with their own supplement selection and doses. Profiles are created, edited and removed from either the screen or the application. 04Dispensing control — Each cartridge station is opened for a set duration, and that duration is what sets the dose delivered into the glass. Station timing is configurable and recorded, so the machine can be tuned and serviced against numbers instead of guesswork. 05Electronics and hardware integration — The electronics architecture, the processing hardware and the sensors were specified here, then integrated with the dispensing hardware as one working system. 06Connected operation — Network setup and pairing with the companion application are done on the appliance itself, so the machine can be put on the household network and linked to the application without a separate tool or a site visit.
